Crossover concept to go on show at Geneva 2012

With the motoring press preparing to descend en masse to Geneva for the 2012 motor show, it’s teasers-a-plenty from car companies. Here’s another one from Nissan, who have released this short video of the Hi-Cross concept, a crossover which it will be showing more of at next week’s show.

Nissan Hi-Cross concept showcases a new crossover, likely to replace the X-Trail

Nissan has strong form in the crossover segment – having sold over 1 million units since its 2006 launch, the Sunderland-built Qashqai has been something of a cash cow. There are very few details available about the Hi-Cross concept, other than what you see in the video. We’ll know more next week, but internet murmurings would have it that this is the next generation X-Trail. If that’s the case, it’s a far sleeker and less boxy-looking thing than the outgoing model. The Hi-Cross will share space on Nissan’s stand with its new B-segment concept, the Invitation, which broke cover in this teaser video earlier this month.
